What remains when the world forgets us? Seeking for answers, Wastelands transfers the posthuman outside world into the exhibition space. Six artistic positions confront their own terminality. Using simple, natural materials, they bridge the gap between the space left behind by humans and the space (re-)occupied by nature. The correlation between artificially constructed forms and random structures is examined. The dynamic dialogue between the architecture of the exhibition space and the largely site-specific works focuses attention on the authenticity of the materials used, thus questions our relationship to the natural environment as well as our place in it.
